Art Alumni Day

On Nov. 22, the New Hyde Park Memorial Art Department invited back 13 alumni to speak to our art classes for an inspirational day as part of Art and Careers Week. This is the fifth consecutive year hosting “Art Alumni Day.” Our former students represent different disciplines within the arts, ranging from 2D and 3D animation to Fine Arts, Art Education and Graphic Design. Alumni created visual presentations that helped to highlight aspects of their individual majors and careers, campus life, and responsibilities of their jobs. They encouraged Q&A with the art students. While some alumni may not have majored in art specifically, they were able to discuss the importance of visual arts for study skills and regulating stress throughout their college career. The art department is incredibly proud of the many accomplishments of our alumni, and we are so thankful they took time out of their busy schedules to speak with our classes. Their success is a testament to the quality of their education during their time here at New Hyde Park Memorial.
